Our new Turkish colleagues are introduced to the Cybersecurity Schools project by our coordinating partner Aysegul Erdur. We welcome them and hope they will have a very positive and enriching learning experience in their lives.

A new Academic Year begins

 A NEW ACADEMIC YEAR BEGINS

On Friday 17 September the coordinating partners met to organise and plan the new academic year. It was a very important meeting in which we reached agreements on the following points:

- Planning and organisation of monthly/annual tasks.

- Use of TwinSpace.

- Dissemination activities.

- Mobilities. The first mobility will be in Italy (Pescara) between 22-26 November. We will start the organizational arrangements in the first half of October.

Here we share some photos of the session. Many thanks to all partners for making things so easy and for reaching agreements in such an easy way. That makes for a great project. Welcome!

Turkish mobility 2nd and 3rd Days

During these two days we have participated in the following activities:

CODING SESSIONS 1 AND 2

There have been two sessions in which we have been introduced to the fantastic world of programming and robotics. The students' performance has been spectacular.

CYBERMENTORS PRESENT THEIR WORK

Each group of cybermentor pupils from the six associations presented their annual work on Internet risks to their peers. These are the themes worked on in each of the schools: Hungary - Games; Italy - Netiquette and cyberbullying; Poland - Hate; Spain - Techno Addictions; Romania - Cybersecurity threats; and Turkey - Finding out the average time being spent on Instagram.

IMPACT OF THE PROJECT

This activity is of utmost importance in our project, as it has allowed us to evaluate the impact of the project in our educational communities. In the following link we invite you to read the results of this evaluation.

ETWINNING AND TWINSPACE FOR PUPILS

The students were trained on how to use the TwinSpace of our project. They saw the great importance of this platform, as well as how easy and intuitive it is to use.

CYBERSECURITY CONTEST

The students took part in a quiz to test their knowledge in relation to what they had learned about cybersecurity issues. The experience was very didactic because they had fun while reinforcing what they learned and understanding their mistakes thanks to the feedback provided by the web tool and the explanations of our coordinating partner, Aysegul Erdur.

DISCUSSION ON UNIT 3

We saw all the work done from Unit 2 of Good Practices. This is contained in a Padlet. We show the work done in relation to unit three of good practices: The Club of the Braves. The teachers agreed on the deadline for handing in this and other outstanding activities (end of June).

ENGLISH QUIZ

We played with an easy English Quiz that included ten english questions.

CERTIFICATES OF ATTENDANCE

We issued individual certificates for all the participants. We printed them at the centre and held a handover ceremony.

CLOSING CEREMONY

We look back on the moments of online mobility with the Hungarian partners in a touching video.

We express our thanks to the coordinating partners of the activity with a collaborative presentation which we share below.

During the mobility we made a diary with photos, drawings and messages of the moments that caught our attention and which we share below with our partners and blog readers (click on the image).

We end this entry with a message of thanks to our coordinating partners in Turkey for their great effort in virtualising an activity that was initially planned to be done in a face-to-face mode. We also thank the participation of the management teams, teachers, students and families who are directly or indirectly involved in our project. Thank you!

Turkish mobility: 1st Day

DAY 1

Hoy ha tenido lugar nuestro primer día de movilidad virtual con nuestros socios de Turquía. Es la segunda actividad de nuestro proyecto que virtualizamos y ha sido todo un éxito para profesores y alumnos.

Today we had our first virtual mobility day with our partners from Turkey and the rest of organisations. It is the second activity of our project that we virtualized and it was a great success for teachers and students.

Comenzamos con la presentación de cada una de las escuelas. En nuestro caso decidimos innovar e hicimos un vídeo de presentación de nuestros alumnos en diferentes lugares de nuestra escuela y otro vídeo con bailes regionales de Extremadura.

We started the session with the presentation of every school. We decided to innovate with a presentation video of our classmates in different places of our beautiful school and other video with regional dances of Extremadura.

Nuestros socios anfitriones nos sorprendieron con un concierto en directo. Profesores de la escuela de Fethiye nos cantaron canciones tradicionales de su región. ¡Muchas gracias!

Our host partners surprised us with a live concert. Teachers from Fethiye school sang us traditional songs from their region, thank you very much!

Tras la presentación de todas las escuelas hicimos un breve descanso con un desayuno saludable.

After finishing all schools presentations we took a healthy breakfast in a space dedicated for it in our Library.

Continuamos con un taller de aplicaciones de la web 2.0 que los alumnos disfrutaron con divertidas actividades. Fue muy productivo tanto para los alumnos como para los profesores. En nuestro caso utilizamos muchas de ellas e incorporaremos en nuestras prácticas educativas otras que no conocemos. Todas tienen en común la colaboración y la creatividad. We continued with a workshop on web 2.0 applications which the students enjoyed with fun activities. It was very productive for both students and teachers. In our case we use many of them and we will incorporate in our educational practices others that we do not know. All of them have collaboration and creativity in common. You can learn about them and investigate them in the following Padlet.

Finalizamos la mañana con una presentación sobre aspectos culturales e interesantes de la cultura turca. ¡Muchas gracias a los compañeros!

We ended the morning with a presentation on cultural and interesting aspects of Turkish culture. Many thanks to our colleagues!

Profesores participando en la Movilidad Virtual de Turquía

Os presentamos al equipo de profesores que estarán al frente de la segunda virtual de Turquía. 3, 2, 1... ¡La Movilidad Virtual de Turquía está llegando!

Del 19 al 21 de mayo desarrollaremos la segunda movilidad virtual de nuestro proyecto Eramus+ KA229 “Cybersecurity Schools” que lleva por título “Coding and other digital Skills”. La escuela anfitriona será  FETHIYE ORTAOKULU de Turquía y con esta actividad perseguimos los siguientes objetivos: conocer los principios básicos de robótica y codificación; cooperar entre alumnos de diferentes países europeos; familiarizarse con otras culturas; mejorar la competencia lingüística y digital.

Agradecemos a su coordinadora Aysegul Erdur el enorme esfuerzo de virtualización de una actividad que en un principio estaba diseñada para ser realizada de forma presencial. Esperemos que la situación con la pandemia mejore y estas actividades puedan realizarse como inicialmente fueron creadas. ¡Gracias!

Turkish Good Practice: What do you mean?

Emocionante sesión donde las cinco clases de quinto nos unimos en una clase online para llevar a cabo la buena práctica de la unidad dos de nuestros socios turcos.

La práctica llevaba por título "What do you mean?" y perseguía los siguientes objetivos:

• Aprender sobre las reglas de los mensajes de texto.
• Reconocer las formas correctas de escribir un mensaje.
• Averiguar las abreviaturas en los mensajes de texto y sus significados.
• Aprender habilidades para evitar malentendidos.

Durante la sesión realizamos de forma grupal las siguientes actividades:

• Reflexión inicial para saber que sabían nuestros alumnos del tema propuesto.
• Estudio y reflexión de un caso real.
• Propuesta de una batería de actividades para ser realizadas a nivel de grupo clase y que serán expuestas en la próxima sesión.

A continuación exponemos todas nuestras evidencias de aprendizaje en forma de presentaciones, tableros sociales y fotos.

Exciting session where the five fifth grade classes join in an online class to carry out the good practice of the unit two of our Turkish partners.

The practice was entitled "What do you mean?" and had the following objectives:

• Learn about the rules of text messaging.
• Recognize the correct ways to write a message.
• Find out the abbreviations in text messages and their meanings.
• Learn skills to avoid misunderstandings.

During the session we carry out the following activities in a group setting:

• Initial reflection to find out what our students knew about the proposed topic.
• Study and reflection of a real case.
• Proposal of a battery of activities to be carried out at class group level and that will be exposed in the next session.

TURKISH CYBERMENTOR STUDENTS

Our student were asked to write an essay about why they want to be Cybermentor in this project. 5 kids were chosen among others since they have declared their interest in being a Cybermentor in an impressive way.
